Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Connex application and services ("Connex", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by CONNEX PLATFORMS (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED, incorporated in India under the Companies Act, 2013. By creating an account or using Connex, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Connex.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Connex. By using Connex, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years old
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- You are not banned or previously removed from Connex for violating these Terms
2. Your Account
2.1 Registration
You register using a phone number or email address. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information during registration and setup
- Keeping your device and sessions secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
2.2 ConnexCode
Upon registration, you are assigned a unique 6-character ConnexCode. This code:
- Is your permanent public identifier on Connex
- Cannot be transferred to another user
- Is reserved for 30 days after account deletion to prevent malicious re-registration
2.3 Account Security
- Connex uses one-time passwords (OTP) for authentication — there are no passwords to manage
- If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, revoke all sessions immediately from your profile settings and contact us at support@connexapp.io
- You may have multiple active sessions (devices) at any time and can revoke any of them individually
2.4 One Account Per Person
You may only create one personal account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans, limits, or moderation actions is prohibited.
3. Acceptable Use
3.1 Permitted Use
Connex is a professional networking platform. You may use it to:
- Create and share your professional digital identity card
- Connect with other professionals at events, remotely, or through shared Boards
- Organise your connections using labels, clusters, and Discover and join networking Boards
3.2 Prohibited Conduct
You must not use Connex to:
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent profile information
- Harass, abuse, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any other user
- Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam connection requests
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from Connex without our written permission
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Connex app or API
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with Connex
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or any security control
- Upload content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, sexually explicit, discriminatory based on caste, religion, gender, or ethnicity, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Violate any provision of the Information Technology Act, 2000 or other applicable Indian law
- Use Connex for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law
- Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorisation
- Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities — report them to support@connexapp.io instead
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban without notice. Connex may remove content that violates these standards at its sole discretion.
4. User Content
4.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you upload to Connex (profile photo, bio, links, files). By uploading content, you grant Connex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and deliver that content to users you are connected with, solely for the purpose of operating the service.
4.2 Content Standards
All content you upload must:
- Be accurate and not misleading
- Not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
- Not contain malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Comply with all applicable laws
4.3 Removal
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to users or the platform.
5. Connections and Boards
5.1 Connection Requests
- You can control who may send you connection requests (everyone or nobody) via your visibility settings
- Connection request limits apply based on your plan tier
- Abusing the connection request feature (spam requests) may result in account suspension
5.2 Boards
- Boards are networking spaces. Creating or joining a Board is subject to the Board's rules
- Board creators are responsible for the conduct of their Boards
- Private Boards require a PIN; sharing Board PINs beyond the intended audience is at your own risk
6. Plans and Payments
6.1 Free and Paid Plans
Connex offers a free plan and paid plans (Premium, Elite). Feature availability and usage limits vary by plan. Current plan details are available in the app.
6.2 Pricing
All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) inclusive of 18% GST:
- Free: ₹0 — Lifetime
- Premium: ₹1,199/year — Billed annually
- Elite: ₹21,999/year — Billed annually
Subscriptions are purchased through the Connex website (connexapp.io) via Razorpay.
Prices are subject to change with 30 days' advance notice. Price changes take effect at the next renewal.
6.3 Payments
Paid plans are processed through Razorpay Software Pvt Ltd. By purchasing a paid plan, you agree to Razorpay's terms of service and authorise Razorpay to charge the applicable fee to your selected payment method.
6.4 Renewals and Grace Period
Paid plans are sold as annual subscriptions valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Subscriptions do not auto-renew. You will be notified 30 days before expiry via push notification and/or email so you can renew manually.
If you do not renew before expiry, your account enters a 30-day grace period during which paid features may be limited or revoked. After the grace period, your account is automatically downgraded to the free plan.
Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy at connexapp.io/refund-policy.
7. Account Termination
7.1 By You
You may delete your account at any time from the app settings:
- Soft delete: Schedules permanent deletion with a 7-day recovery window. Your ConnexCode is held in reserve so no one else receives it during this period.
- Restore: Within the 7-day window, you can cancel deletion and fully restore your account.
- Hard delete: Within the 7-day window, you can choose to skip the wait and immediately purge all your personal data. This cannot be undone.
7.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms or our policies
- We are required to do so by law
- We determine your account poses a risk to other users or the platform
7.3 Appeal
If Connex terminates your account, you may appeal the decision by writing to grievance@connexapp.io within 30 days. We will respond within 15 days.
7.4 Effect of Termination
Upon account deletion, your profile and ConnexCode become inaccessible to other users immediately. Your personal data is purged in accordance with our Privacy Policy at connexapp.io/privacy-policy.
8. Intellectual Property
All Connex trademarks, logos, product names, and service names are the property of CONNEX PLATFORMS (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property without our prior written consent.
9. Disclaimers
Connex is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Any information on the platform is accurate or complete
- Defects will be corrected
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Connex and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use Connex
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
- Conduct or content of any third party on the platform
Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or INR 500 (whichever is greater).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Connex and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your use of Connex
- Content you upload or share on Connex
- Your violation of any third-party rights
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
Consumers may also raise disputes through the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) portal at consumerhelpline.gov.in as an alternative to court proceedings.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of Connex after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using Connex and delete your account.
